The Stittsville Diversion Trunk Sewer is a project for the City of Ottawa in which Taggart Construction was contracted to install 2.7 km of 900mm hyprescon sanitary pipe. The maximum depth required was around 10m. The pipe starts at the turning circle where Abbott Street East meets Robert Grant Avenue and connects to the Kanata West Pump station on Maple Grove Road. Taggart Construction crews worked with Marathon Drilling to install 93.1m of pipe under Hazeldean Road using trenchless excavation methods. Additionally, Taggart Construction crews worked with Bowfin Environmental to safely and responsibly de-fish and temporarily relocate Poole Creek to allow installation of the pipe.
