Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa
A new partnership for the Taggart Parkes Foundation is making a difference in the lives of children and youth in Ottawa.
In 2020, the Taggart Parkes Foundation is excited to be partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa (BBBSO), Canada’s leading child and youth mentoring organization. At BBBSO, their vision is to build relationships, provide leadership, and embrace community, all while coming alongside children and young people as they grow into adulthood.
A generous $25,000 donation made by the Taggart Parkes Foundation has paved the way for the creation of the Taggart Parkes Foundation Youth Experience Program which provides Littles (youth mentees) with planned monthly activities with their mentors in order to strengthen this relationship outside of their regular one-to-one mentoring activities. This program will give these youth experiential learning opportunities, access to new experiences, and will teach them new skills, which will lead to greater positive outcomes and help these youth reach their full potential.
